GRANT FUNDING FROM THE MISSOURI DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION (MDC) Last year, the City of Winchester received a TRIM Grant in the amount of $22,525.15 from MDC for the removal of dead and diseased trees, mulching of trees and new trees for planting in Reber Park. The work began in November, 2024. Since that time, twelve (12) trees and stumps have been removed. Twenty-eight (28) new trees are in the process of being planted. The new trees were provided by Forest Releaf and are a variety including: American Hornbeam, Eastern Redbuds, Kentucky Coffee, Flowering Dogwoods, Eastern Ninebark, Bur Oaks, American Elderberry, Sycamores, White Oak, Cypress and Post Oak. As soon as the planting is finished, they will all be mulched, and the project will be complete.

Police Departments in the area are noticing an increase in stolen cars and vehicle break-ins in West County including the City of Winchester. The Mayor and Board of Aldermen encourage residents who may see something, or have video from a surveillance camera to contact the Ballwin Police Department immediately. This information can be used as evidence if it is provided to the police department as soon as possible.

Because of the increase in vehicular crimes the Ballwin Police Department is performing extra patrols in our city. If you see a crime being committed it is important for you to call 911 immediately. Do not ever try to confront a thief on your own!
