Weatherization Assistance Program Available

The Weatherization Assistance Program

AN OPPORTUNITY TO HELP FAMILY BUDGETS, CONSERVE ENERGY AND IMPROVE PROPERTY VALUES

The Community Action Agency of St. Louis County (CAASTLC) continues to provide no-cost home weatherization for low income residents.  Depending on the results of a state-of-the- art energy audit, they hire contractors to update insulation, seal windows and other energy leaks.

In addition to the obvious budget benefits for the families or individuals directly served, the improvements to the housing stock can boost property values. And money saved by the home owners can be used for other house improvements. Rental properties with low income tenants are also eligible for the same Weatherization Assistance Program benefits with the exception of appliance replacement.

CAASTLC is currently weatherizing homes in local communities.    Establish a contact with CAASTLC staff and allow them to follow up with you to determine eligibility.  For more information or to schedule a briefing in your municipality,  call 314.446.4436.  Information is also available at the website:  http://dnr.mo.gov/energy/weatherization/wx.htm or  –  www.caastlc.org .

This program is supported through funding from the U.S. Department of Energy (U.S. DOE), the Missouri Department of Natural Resources Division of Energy, Laclede Gas and Ameren Missouri.
